We had so much fun this Christmas! Ethan got to sit on Santa's lap at the Christmas party that his school had. He got a present from Santa and loved seeing all of the kids running around playing. We went to my parent's house for Christmas Eve and spent time with family and friends and then had our first Christmas morning at home. It was so nice waking up and having breakfast and opening presents just the 3 of us. Then we went to Allen's parent's house and watched all of the kids open presents. Alex was with Shane's family so we waited until Monday night to have Christmas with the Kievit's. I think Ethan loves all of his new toys, but he's really going to like it next year. He was mostly focused on the paper and boxes this year. Allen and I are just so happy to have a healthy baby boy! Happy New Year!

9 Months Old
Ethan is 9 months old now! It's amazing how fast these past months have gone by. He is getting so big and funny, I love it! He is still crawling around everywhere and pulling himself up on anything that he can. He has started "cruising" around the couch and ottoman. He's doing really well at his day care and is sleeping about 10.5 to 11 hours at night. On his 9 month birthday we took him to get his hair cut. We went to see Allen's hair dresser Jonathan at his house in Clearlake. It is a gorgeous house and they have a big beautiful boat that we got to go play on. They made breakfast for us and then Ethan got a professional haircut. He looked so cute. I took him to the doctor this week for his 9 month checkup and of course he got sick the night before. So it was perfect timing to see the doctor, but I also was upset that he was sick. He's got a ton of medicine and he's finally starting to feel better. He weighed 21 lbs 6 oz (95%) and was 29 3/4 inches long (75%). His head is still in the 50% range. Overall (minus the upper respiratory infection), he was very healthy and the doctor was happy with his progress. Happy Birthday Baby Boy!

Baby Korbyn
Danny (my brother) and his wife Deanna had my baby nephew Korbyn Daniel Kievit on October 16th at 2:47am. He was 6lbs 3oz and 19 inches long. We went to Dallas last weekend to visit the family and to see Alex. We had lots of fun! Ethan is bigger now so he can play a lot more with Kaya. They were so cute! And so was Korbyn. He is still smaller than Ethan was at birth and he was 4.5 weeks old. He is just so small and cuddly. I love him so much already and I can't wait until all of these cousins get old enough to chase each other around and swim in Nana's pool . Next it will be Alex's turn to have a little one. She just recently got engaged to her boyfriend Shane and we couldn't be happier for them. He is such a great guy and so much fun to be around. He will fit in perfectly with our family and it is clear that he loves Alex and will always be there for her. We are all so lucky and thankful to have such a wonderful, big family.

8 Months
Ethan turned 8 months on November 6th. He's getting so big! I know he will be walking soon. He's still army crawling, but he is pulling up on anything and everything including my legs. He has even started to try to take steps when he is standing (and holding on to something). He still hasn't started with the "mamamamama" yet, but he's squealing like crazy and saying dadada and blah-blah-blah. He's so cute, I can barely handle it. And the pictures are getting harder and harder to take. This kid doesn't sit still for a second. He's always on the move! Allen and I love him so much and we are amazed by him everyday.

Ethan's First Halloween
This was Ethan's first Halloween and he dressed up as an adorable little monkey. It was perfect for him, because he is just like a little monkey. He crawls around and gets into everything! Saturday was gorgeous so we went to the U of H game and then we went out to Nana and Papa's house because Alex was in town. Isn't he cute?

7 Months!
Ethan is 7 months old now! He's so big and sweet and we love playing with him and watching him learn. He is about 20.5 lbs and I'd say 29 inches or so. He goes to bed by 8:30 and sleeps until he wants to eat at 6. Then he falls back to sleep until 7:30. He is still nursing 5 times a day and eats solids 3 times a day. He just started eating meat... let me tell you how appetizing pureed ham smells. Ethan has 2 teeth on the bottom, 4 on top, and his incisors are coming in on the top. He is army crawling, almost there... but his belly is still cleaning our floors. He is fascinated by our dog Kujo and thinks he is hilarious. He is definitely a boy and likes to move around. I can hardly change his diaper anymore because he wants to flip to his stomach. He loves his baths and swinging outside. Ethan is amazing and so much fun!
