Lot's of first's...

Daddy drying Ethan off

After being stuck in the house so much I begged Allen to take me out to eat last Friday night. It was Ethan's first real outing and he slept the whole time. We went to Chuy's and had dinner and a beer! He also went to the doctor again on Monday. He was 2 weeks and 3 days old and we checked his height and weight. He gained 1.5 lbs and grew over an inch. He's at 10 lbs and 4 oz and is 22 inches long. 90% for both. He's a big boy! Dr. Goldburg says he looks great. He thinks everything is going well and he is gaining weight properly. He says we're doing a great job. I just can't believe how fast the time is going. He's 3 weeks old today. I'm so happy to have him and can't stop staring at him. He's been napping in his crib and I can't stop looking at the video monitor. It's almost obsessive. That will change right? He's so cute and sweet. We also gave him his first real bath. I think he liked it. I don't think he loves getting his head wet... but he's pretty content the rest of the time. Daddy is doing such a good job with helping and bathing him. It's really cute.

Happy Birthday!

My 3 boys... the loves of my life.

Sleeping Tooter

Today is Ethan's two week birthday. I can't believe it has already been 2 weeks since he came into our lives. What a precious gift. He changes so much every day. I can't wait to watch him grow and learn. We go back to the doctor on Monday to see what changes he has made already and to see how big he is getting. I have nicknamed him Tooter... let's just say he his definitely Allen's son. I posted a couple pictures of the little birthday boy.

Happy St. Patty's Day

I just wanted to post a couple pictures of my little lucky charm. He's so cute and sweet and I can't believe how much I love him already. (even when he is crying in the middle of the night) Everything is going well and we are starting to really get to know each other. Kujo is doing well and I think he is getting used to the idea that the baby is not going anywhere. The sun finally came out yesterday so we all got to go on a walk. It was nice getting out of the house after a full week of cold and rain.

Cousin Reilly

Aimi & Travis are some of our best friends and just 2 days after Baby Ethan was born, Baby Reilly came! She was born on 3/8/09 at 8:04pm. We love her just as much as her big brother Zach and we can't wait for our little ones to all play together. It was such a special time being pregnant with Aimi and now our babies will grow up together. Congratulation's Bakers!

Ethan Paul Maeker

1:15 am Friday morning... on the way to the hospital.

Looking at daddy

I love my Aunt Alex so much already!

He's here! Ethan was born right on time on March 6th, 2009 at 1:48 pm. He weighed 8lbs 14 oz and was 20.5 inches long. He's beautiful and perfect and Allen and I couldn't have asked for anything more. Everything went so well. I won't lie and say I can't wait until I forget about the painful contractions before my epidural, but after that... it was a breeze. We got to the hospital at 1:30 am on Thursday and 12 hours later had our healthy baby boy. Everyone at the hospital was so helpful and nice and it really was a pretty enjoyable experience. He'll be one week old tomorrow and I can't believe it. He is changing everyday and I already want to slow it all down. I love him so much and I thank Allen every minute for giving me the most precious gift I could ever ask for. Kujo is doing well and we are all getting adjusted to our new lives.

It's March!

And it's Ethan's birthday month! For some reason I had it in my head that he would not be born in February, so now we're here in March and I think it will be soon. With my luck, he'll be late and I'll be huge and miserable. But let's cross our fingers that he comes some time this week. I go to the doctor on Tuesday and maybe she'll tell me to head on over to the hospital. Wait... that's in 2 days! I can't believe it's almost time. I'm trying to decide how I feel about this. I'm so excited to meet him and hold him, I'm nervous about the labor and delivery (and all of the great things I hear that will happen to my body after birth), and I'm a little sad I won't feel him inside of me anymore. I guess that is what having a baby is all about. Emotions. I'm definitely feeling them. I think Allen is too. This will be a big change for both of us... we're used to running around and doing whatever we please. I guess we won't be going on our annual Mexico vacation this spring. Oh well, I know this little boy will be worth it.
