Back to work tomorrow

Today is my last day home with my beautiful baby boy. I've been dreading this day since before he was born. I have been on the verge of tears for the past week and today is no exception. I think I cried twice yesterday... it's only been once today (so far). This will be one of the hardest things I've ever done, but I know that we will all make it work. It's just going to take some time, tears, and lots of phone calls. It has been so amazing spending my days with Ethan for the past 12 weeks. It went by so fast, but I can't believe how much he has changed since he came into our lives. Everyday is something new and I think that is what hurts so much about this. I am going to miss those little changes. I won't see his every smile and hear his coos. Someone else will. Ugh... I hate the idea of it. But I will be able to spend my nights and weekends with him. And maybe he'll learn a little spanish at his new school. Wish me luck. It's going to be a rough couple of weeks, so think about me and Ethan. I know I'll be thinking of him.

Memorial Day 2009

My parent's had a big Memorial Day party at their house yesterday and after the rain stopped... we all got to go outside and swim. My dad and the boys smoked a bunch of meat and we had way too much food. But everyone had such a great time. My grandfather came down from Florida and got to meet his first Great Grandson. Alex's boyfriend Shane also came down and met the whole family. Unfortunately, Aunt Betsie and Cindi and Al couldn't make it. We missed them, but we took lots of pictures for them. Ethan had a really good time, I don't think he ever got put down. But it was nice because there was always someone watching him and I got to enjoy some time without a baby attached to my hip. :)

Hmmm... they look comfortable, don't they?

Like Father, Like Son

So, I was making dinner last night and Ethan was being really good and I thought, what is he up to? So I look over and there he is... just like his Daddy.

(It was just too hard to pass up the opportunity to take a funny picture like this)

My Little Fishy (well Pisces that is)

Isn't he adorable in his swim trunks???

I heated up the hot tub just warm enough to take Ethan for his first swim this week. He just kind of looked around like he does during his baths. I think he liked it, but it's hard to tell. He layed back in my arms and floated (kind of, I was holding him so there really wasn't any way for him to float) and he stood on the steps. It was really cute. I can't wait until he is bigger and can swim all of the time. If he's anything like his momma... he'll love the water. And one of these days he'll learn to water ski on the lake at his Nana and Papa's new house.

My First Mother's Day

What a great day! Daddy made me breakfast and Ethan and Kujo got me a spa day at Urban Retreat. I can't wait for that! It will be so nice to go and relax with a massage and facial and to get my nails done. Nice. Then we went to Onion Creek for lunch and out to Granny and Popo's for dinner. It was so strange to have all these people tell me Happy Mother's Day. Being a mom is still pretty new to me, but I know that I was meant to be one...

2 Months

Can you read his shirt? It says "totally cuter than daddy".

I can't believe my little boy is already 2 months old! (I start a lot of these blogs with "I can't believe...). He has changed so much since he came into our lives. He smiles so much now. It is the cutest thing in the entire world. He is sleeping through the night and he is holding his head up and standing. He's such a strong boy! I love Ethan so much and I truly enjoy every second that I spend with him.

The Zoo

We finally got to go to the zoo this week. We went with Aimi, Zach and Reilly. It was so much fun! I think Zach had the most fun looking at the elephants.
