Lifting my head

I realized I didn't put any info about Ethan's last doctor appointment on the blog. We went last Friday, the 17th. He was 12 lbs 7 oz! That is still 90% for weight. They measured him at 23 inches on his height, which I thought was a little shorter than I had measured... but who knows. That is 75% on height and his head is still measuring in the 75% range. He got 2 shots, his first polio shot and his second hepatitis B shot. He did great. I was really happy about that. It was sad to see those little shots in his thighs. He goes back this Friday for another round of shots when he is 8 weeks. I can't believe he is going to be 8 weeks! He is getting so big. And curious. He has started smiling. It was the most amazing thing the first time he did it. I about died... it melted my heart. I thought he had been smiling before, but when he really smiled he used his whole face. It was so sweet. He has been looking around so much more and grabbing things. He is finally using his hands. I love it! We are still working on his sleeping. But he's doing pretty well. I can't complain about my precious boy. He is such a joy and I dread the day I go back to work and miss spending our days together.

We also got to go with Daddy on a business trip for the night to Corpus Christi. It was Ethan's first trip to the beach and he slept the whole time. But it was great getting out of the city for a bit and he even let us enjoy a very nice dinner. We even got to eat appetizers! Then we went to the boat show and picked out the boat we want Nana & Papa to buy so that Ethan can learn to water ski.
