Almost 6 Weeks

Ethan & Reilly
Hanging out at Zach & Reilly's house

Just stretching and playing

My first facial (oatmeal and milk... it's for my baby acne)

I can't believe Ethan is almost 6 weeks old. I also can't believe that so many mom's go back to work when the baby is only 6 weeks. That's what my work would like... they only give 6 weeks of maternity leave. I couldn't imagine leaving him with someone else right now. Of course, I probably won't be able to imagine it in 6 more weeks. I'm sure that is going to be one of the hardest things I've ever done. But lots of people do it. My mom did it... so I know it's possible.
Daddy is on his first business trip since Ethan was born. He just left this morning, so it hasn't been a problem yet. We'll see how it goes after tomorrow night. He is also riding in the MS 150 this weekend. It's a bike ride from Houston to Austin. That's going to be a lot of work, especially because they are predicting 70% chance of rain on Saturday. Some areas are expecting to get around 5 inches of rain! I hope he doesn't have to ride through that. We'll go stay at Nana's on Saturday night. That should be fun, and I know Kujo will be happy.
Ethan is sleeping for about 3-3.5 hours at a time at night. Luckily, he usually goes right back down after he eats. But I don't know how I will get him to sleep through that urge to eat. My doctor says that all of the babies in his office are sleeping through the night by 7 weeks. That is next week. Somehow I don't see that happening. But it would be really nice if it did. He goes to the doctor this Friday for his 6 week checkup and for some shots. Wish me luck... I hear they give the shots in their thighs. I'm a little worried about watching that. Hopefully he won't be too upset. I'm sure that makes it worse.

I can't believe he's already 6 weeks! He'll do ok with the shots. You can give him a little tylenol before you go to be safe, but if you don't do that, make sure you take some with you to give him right afterwards. Good luck!
